In the bible it is self-evident that there were laws of God in the beginning. The primary law from the foundation of the world is the Ten Commandments (10 Commandments). It is also self-evident that the Lord imputed punishment for breaking the law of God during this period. Furthermore, this is clear in the punishments of Lucifer (Satan), Adam, Eve, and Cain for breaking the law of the Lord. It is truly a mystery how these simple facts elude so many servants of God. Therefore, they have eyes that see not and ears that hear not. Moreover, it can only be the mystery of iniquity at work.
The Bible teaches us that sin is breaking the law of God in the beginning or any time. It also says that Satan sinned from the beginning. Furthermore, it goes on to say that where there is no law, there is no sin. (Romans 4:15) Therefore, if no law existed, there could be no sin, because there would be no law to break. So, no law means no one could be guilty of sin. Therefore, if Satan sinned from the foundation of the world, then it makes sense that we have had the law of the Lord from the beginning. Also, the Kingdom of Heaven proves the existence of the law of the Lord from the foundation of the world.
The Kingdom of Heaven
The kingdom of heaven proves the existence of the law of God in the beginning. The first thing the Bible teaches us is that from the beginning, the Lord created the heavens and the earth, and all their hosts. (Genesis 1:1) Therefore, the Lord completed His work, which He had done, and He rested from all His work, which He had done. Then He rested from all His work, which the Lord had created and made. (Genesis 2:1-3) Therefore, from the beginning, His created and made works were finished. (Hebrews 4:3) Therefore, from the beginning, whatever things the Lord made in heaven have been in heaven from the foundation of the world. Furthermore, after the creation period, there is no mention of the Lord making anything new in Heaven. Also, if it did this would contradict the creation account. Moreover, it would make God a liar.
The Bible tells us some of the things that God created in the beginning. For example, from the beginning, God prepared a kingdom, called the kingdom of heaven, for His saved people. (Matthew 25:34) Also, the book of Revelation tells us that at some point the temple of the tabernacle of the testimony in heaven opened. (Revelation 15:5) A little later it tells us that the temple of God, which is in heaven opened, and that the ark of His covenant is in His temple. (Revelation 11:19) Furthermore, this heavenly tabernacle and ark had copies on Earth. However, this raises two questions, what is the testimony, and what is His covenant from the beginning?
The Lord’s Covenant proves the Ten Commandments of God in the beginning. Revelation 15 teaches us that God’s covenant has existed from the beginning. God declared to Israel His covenant, which He commanded them to perform, that is, the Ten Commandments. He also wrote them on two stone tablets. (Deuteronomy 4:13) Also in chapter 9, it says the Lord gave Moses the two stone tablets written by the finger of God, and on them were the Ten Commandments, which He spoke to them at the mountain from the midst of the fire on the day of the assembly. (Deuteronomy 9:10) Also, God wrote on the tablets, like the former writing, the Commandments that He spoke to you on the mountain from the midst of the fire on the day of the assembly, and He gave them to Moses. (Deuteronomy 10:4)
The Testimony also proves the Ten Commandments of God in the beginning. Moses put into the ark he made the testimony that has existed from the beginning. (Exodus 25:21) When God had finished speaking with Moses upon Mount Sinai, He gave Moses the two tablets of the testimony, tablets of stone, written by the finger of God. (Exodus 31:18) Then Moses turned and went down from the mountain with the tablets of the testimony in his hand, tablets written on both sides, written on one side and the other. Furthermore, these tablets were God’s work, and the writing was His writing engraved on the tablets. (Exodus 32:15-16) Later, as Moses came near the camp that he saw the calf and the dancing. So, Moses’ anger burned, and he threw the tablets from his hands and shattered them at the foot of the mountain. (Exodus 32:19)
Later the Lord said to Moses, “Cut out for yourself two stone tablets like the former ones, and I will write on the tablets the words that were on the former tablets which you shattered. (Exodus 34:1) So God wrote on the tablets, like the former writing, the Ten Commandments that He had spoken to you on the mountain from the midst of the fire on the day of the assembly, and He gave them to Moses. (Deuteronomy 10:4) Because of the two tablets of stone, it becomes self-evident that the Testimony and His covenant are the same things. Furthermore, the phrase “the ark of the testimony” and “the ark of the covenant” is in the bible many times. Also, the book of the Law of Moses even has a version of the testimonies of God.
Copies of Heavenly Things
The tabernacle of the temple in heaven had the law of God in the beginning. God told Moses that according to all that He showed him, the pattern of the tabernacle and the pattern of all its furniture, just so Moses should make them. (Exodus 25:9) Moreover, God says to Moses “see that you make the tabernacle and all its furniture after the pattern for them, which was shown to you on the mountain.” (Exodus 25:40) Therefore, there were copies of the things in the heavens. (Hebrews 8:5, Hebrews 9:23) In other words, the tabernacle, the ark, and the two tablets of stone were mere copies of the true ones. Furthermore, even the earthly holy place was a mere copy of the true one. (Hebrews 9:24) Also, reading Exodus Chapters 25-27 will show a person some of the things that have been in heaven from the beginning.
The fall of Lucifer
The fall of Lucifer proves the existence of the law of God in the beginning. There is hard evidence of the existence of God’s law from the beginning. It starts with the fall of Lucifer. From the beginning, Lucifer’s evil nature was on display. The original sin committed in the bible is the fall of Lucifer. Also, an account of this is in Isaiah 14:12-17 and Ezekiel 28:11-19. When Christ was speaking to the Pharisees, He compared them to Lucifer. Because He says to them, “You are of your father the devil, and you want to do the desires of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning and does not stand in the truth because there is no truth in him. Whenever he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own nature, for he is a liar and the father of lies.” (John 8:44).
The account of Lucifer’s fall is unmistakable evidence in the beginning that the Ten Commandments of God were in effect in Heaven, before the fall of man. Also, there is evidence of Lucifer’s transgressions in Isaiah, Ezekiel, and John. Lucifer’s sin broke almost all of the Ten Commandments of God. He broke the First Commandment because he saw himself as the Lord (Thou shalt have no other god’s before Me). He also broke the Second Commandment (he saw himself in the image of God). Lucifer broke the Third Commandment (he took God’s Name in vain before the other angels, which joined him in his rebellion, a third fell with him) (Rev. 12:4). He also broke the Fifth Commandment (Honor your Father and Mother); God is his creator (Father).
The Bible teaches us that Satan was a murderer even from the beginning. (John 8:44) Therefore, he broke the Sixth Commandment. Lucifer also committed spiritual adultery by the lust for power in seeking God’s position, breaking the Seventh Commandment. He also tried to steal God’s throne breaking the Eight Commandment. He also is a liar, breaking the Ninth Commandment. Also, he coveted in his heart to rule Heaven, which belongs only to God, breaking the Tenth Commandment.
Adam, Eve, and Cain
The punishment of Adam and Eve is proof of the law of God in the beginning. Whoever commits sin transgresses the law: for sin is the transgression of the law. (1 John 3:4) So what law did Adam and Eve transgress? They broke the Law of God because God does not impute sin where there is no law (Rom. 5:13). So, Adam and Eve placed knowledge in place of God, breaking the first Commandment. They broke the second by idolizing something before God. They also broke the fifth Commandment by not honoring their Father (God). Moreover, their disobedience was a form of rebellion. They also broke the tenth, for they coveted knowledge.
Next, Cain slew his brother while it was still early in the beginning. “It came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him. Then the LORD said unto Cain, where is Abel thy brother? So he said I know not: Am I my brother’s keeper?” (Gen. 4:8). Therefore, in this verse, scripture records the first account of humankind committing murder. Because the sixth commandment says, “Thou shalt not murder” (Ex. 20:13). Therefore, from the beginning, there is plain evidence of the Ten Commandments existing upon the Earth as well as in Heaven.
Other Evidence of Laws of God in the Beginning
There is still even more hard evidence of the law of God in the beginning. Joshua said, “From ancient times your fathers lived beyond the River, namely, Terah, the father of Abraham and the father of Nahor, and they served other gods.” (Joshua 24:2) Furthermore, Lot felt his righteous soul tormented day after day by their lawless deeds. (2 Peter 2:8) The following scriptures prove God’s law in the beginning and early on, other than the Ten Commandments of God. This is a sample of more than 30 scriptures.
